கல்கியின் அலையோசை

Sivaji கலைமன்றம் is now on tour staging “கல்கியின் அலையோசை” (Kalki’s Alai Osai - Tamil play) , Dramatization by Sridhar, USA. They have staged 2 successful shows that had good attendance and appreciation. Their next show would be held in SSV temple [DC], Greenbelt, MD. Please check temple website for timings, and do encourage the artist.

It was a pleasure for me to compose music and be part of this hard working team. Moreover, the current issue of Kalki (கல்கி) Tamil magazine has reviewed the play and given a “thumbs up”. The theme scores that I composed for this play has also been mentioned and appreciated in the write up. Thanks to Sridhar, for the opportunity. I composed 17 themes for the play, and 12-15 were used. Besides my scores, sound tracks from pre independence era time were also used accordingly. You can download the tracks here.

Sriks,

listening to for the first time so long after it was posted. you know that i have no knowledge about music than being merely a fan. with this intro please read my comment below.

superb music Sriks. The tunes, choice of instruments/orchestration (even if some are done through keyboard) are like that of IR, ARR.

I fall in love with Intro-curtain raiser, it reminds me of GR, MSV, IR and ARR period of music. way to go.

Alai Osai theme. Simply superb. But one thing i felt is you could have avoided the percussion. I do not know why I feel so but somehow the percussion, even though it gelled well, was kind of protruding in the flow of music (in my feel). But no problem at all in the music. The agression version, wow! what a twist to the same tune way to go Sriks. Contrary to my statement, here the presence of percussion enhanced the beauty of the tune.

Other themes as well were very good. I have no doubt that these BGMs would have perfect fit to the scenes for which you have composed.

I do not see any reason why you would not be a very good MD for TFM.

Thanks a lot Sriks for posting them here and giving a visual as well as audible treat.
